Suggestme Will Make Your Barcelona Experience Unique

By Javier Castillo - November/10/2013

Suggestme is an exciting young company that is striving to improve travelers' experiences in major city destinations across the world. In a nutshell, their website provides suggestions of things to see and do in a
city, on the basis of what is said on social media. This allows visitors to discover not only the most well-known sights in a city, but also unique local gems such as the best coffee shop, an underground gig venue, or the most visited art gallery of the moment!

Uniquely, Suggestme takes this a step further, by offering the possibility to select spots, by clicking on the star, which are assembled into your own personal city map. Then, with unique styling and sleek design these are transformed into a real map with the options of a digital A4 version (sent as pdf), or a real A3 map printed in more detail on waterproof and durable paper.

This is all made possible by what locals and other city trippers say on social media, and sights on Suggestme are shown in relation to social streams including Facebook messages, tweets, Instagram photos, and check-ins on Foursquare. The sights are sorted in relation to popularity by how many people are mentioning a particular spot at any moment in time - so the hottest club of the moment will show high in the streams. For instance, at the moment in Barcelona, the 'Shôko' club is trending right now with many tweets and mentions, and a number of Instagram photos showing people having a great time! This is not limited to nightlife but also includes museums, cultural spots, restaurants, shops, stadiums, and so much more. In the summer, beaches are always trending in Barcelona, while in the winter mentions for art galleries and trendy bars skyrocket. With hundreds of spots for each city, it is possible to tailor-make your perfect trip.

Be in the right place at the right time, and experience Barcelona like you've lived there all your life!

Want a brief yet visually stunning perspective of what Barcelona has to offer? Here is an innumerous sequence of images that uniformly give you a rich look into this marvelous city. This short motion timelapse movie was made by Alexandr Kravtsov during his stay here in Barcelona from August to October of 2013. According to the artist, his project involved: 1 broken camera, a lost flash drive, nearly 100 subway rides, 24,000 photos, endless hours of post production and rendering and about 480 gigabytes of material.
